How to call it

The same tool through each route. MCP clients reach it through Strale’s server at https://api.strale.io/mcp; the call below is what the agent sends.

# Needs an API key. max_price_cents caps what this call may cost.
curl -X POST https://api.strale.io/v1/do \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $STRALE_API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{
    "capability_slug": "uk-disqualified-director-check",
    "inputs": {
      "name": "Smith"
    },
    "max_price_cents": 10
  }'

Limitations

  • Search mode returns candidates only — never auto-picks "the" match

    Disqualified-officer names are not unique. Search mode deliberately returns a candidate list (name, date of birth, address snippet) rather than guessing which candidate is the subject — misattributing a disqualification finding to the wrong person is a serious error class. Disambiguate using date_of_birth or address, then re-call with the chosen officer_id for full detail.

    What to do instead: Always confirm date_of_birth or address before treating a search candidate as a confirmed match

  • UK only, and only disqualifications on the Companies House public register

    Covers formal director disqualifications recorded by UK Companies House / the Insolvency Service. Disqualifications or equivalent sanctions under other jurisdictions' regimes are out of scope.

  • Requires COMPANIES_HOUSE_API_KEY (existing platform credential, free registration)

    Uses the same Companies House API key already provisioned for insolvency-check, [withdrawn], and uk-company-data — no new vendor relationship, but the capability will error without that env var set.
